Born in Lipetsk, Russia, into a family of professional musicians, Swetlana began studying piano at the age of seven with Olga Shepeleva<\/b> at music school. After it she entered the Regional Special School of Arts for Gifted Children<\/b>, still in Olga Shepeleva\u2019s class.<\/p>

In 1996, thanks to her mother\u2019s German roots, the family settled in Germany. Swetlana completed her baccalaureate at the Landesmusikgymnasium in Montabaur<\/b> in the piano classe of Natalia Adomeit, and was later admitted as a Jungstudentin (preparatory student) at the Music Conservatory in Frankfurt. <\/b>She studies there in the class of the great pianist Irina Edelstein<\/b>,\u00a0 elle-m\u00eame \u00e9l\u00e8ve de Jakob Milstein (\u00e9l\u00e8ve de K.Igomnov) au Conservatoire Tcha\u00efkovski de Moscou.<\/p>

In 2007, Swetlana earned her Master\u2019s degree in Piano and Pedagogy<\/b> nd subsequently perfected her artistry at the Music Conservatory in Karlsruhe<\/b> or postgraduated studies working with Michael Uhde<\/b> and Markus Stange.<\/b> In 2010, she got the Concert Diploma with highest honors.<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As part of the Erasmus program she also studied at the Music Conservatory in Lyon and Paris (CNSMD)<\/b> - both prestigious institution in France in the class off G\u00e9ry Moutier<\/b> and Brigitte Engerer<\/b>.<\/p>

Swetlana enriched her education by participating in international masterclasses with renewed musicians such as<\/b>Naum Starkman, Rudolf Kehrer, Anatol Ugorski, Evgeny Malinin, Lilya Zilberstein, Oxana Yablonskaya, Menahem Pressler, Martin Helmchen, Eug\u00e8ne Wangler, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Jean Mouill\u00e8re, Jeff Cohen, and many others.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Swetlana is a prize-winner of numerous national and international competitions<\/b>\u00a0:<\/p>

In Russia, at age 12, she won Concours International de Igumnov de Lipetsk<\/b> and subsequently 1st Prize at Concours Jeunes Talents de Voronej<\/strong>.
She was also a multiple prize-winner at the Jugend Musiziert National Competition as soloist and chamber musician.
In France, Swetlana was a laureate of the International Piano Competition of Brest<\/strong>, and the International Piano Competition \u201cFlamme\u201d in Paris<\/strong>, Forum Musical Normandie<\/strong>, Concours International Lied & M\u00e9lodie de Gordes <\/strong>and Concours International des Familles<\/strong>.<\/p>

She was a finalist at the Duchi d\u2019Aquaviva Chamber Music Competition<\/strong> and at the Concerto Competition of the MasterWorks Festival (USA), performing Rachmaninoff\u2019s Piano Concerto No. 2<\/strong>.<\/p>

Winner of the 8th \u201cLied & M\u00e9lodie\u201d Competition in Gordes in France, Swetlana has a deep affinity for vocal accompaniment, exploring the relationship between text and music with rare sensitivity. In particular, she is a passionate interpreter of the Russian Art Song.<\/p>

Passionate about chamber music and collaboration with other musicians,<\/b> Swetlana was a scholar of the Villa Musica Foundation (Chamber Music Fondation)<\/b> in Germany.\u2028 <\/span>There, she performed in various ensembles under the guidance of renewed musicians such as Menahem Pressler, Martin Ostertag, Nicolas Schumachenko<\/span> and had the privilege of appearing alongside them in concerts throughout Germany.<\/b> This unique experience profoundly enriched and shaped her artistic approach.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

At the age of sixteen, Swetlana made her solo debut performing Tchaikovsky\u2019s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Southampton Youth Orchestra.<\/p>

After then, she has collaborated with orchestras such as the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie and the Philharmonie Baden-Baden. With the latter, she performed Piano Concerto No. 2 by Rachmaninoff\u2013 her heart composer, for her final exam of her post graduated studies at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, earning special distinction from the jury.<\/p>

In 2024, she was invited by Alexandra Conus Rachmaninov, the great-granddaughter of Sergei Rachmaninov, to perform works by the composer at the Sergei Rachmaninov Conservatory in Paris.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Her career as a versatile musician<\/b> has led her to numerous international stages and festivals, where she has performed in around twenty countries as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

She is also committed to humanitarian work and cultural mediation,<\/b> She has taken part in projects such as Music Road Rwanda (with cellist Marie-Elisabeth Hecker), a seven-concert tour across Transylvania, school performances within the Muzik Festival in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey, concerts in Mauritius, as well as numerous performances with Crescendo International in Hungary, Germany, France, and Switzerland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Her solo performance at the Crescendo International Festival in Cahul, Moldova, in 2022 was broadcast live on Moldovan television<\/span>. She has also appeared on television in Russia and Germany and has given numerous radio interviews in several countries.<\/strong><\/p>

Swetlana Meermann-Muret combines her career as a concert pianist with a deep devotion to teaching<\/a>.
She has taught piano both in France and Germany, in prestigious institutions such as Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSMD), the Music Conservatory in Karlsruhe, the Regional Conservatories of Lyon and Grenoble (CRR), the CRD of Bourg-la-Reine, and at INSA Lyon as well as at different music schools.\u2028<\/p>

Swetlana has also been invited to give masterclasses at the Crescendo Summer Institute in Hungary, the Landesmusikakademie Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany, at the Music School of Cahul in Moldova, at Music School of Kigali.<\/p>
